The Director of the Centre Georges Pompidou – Paris, Bernard Blisten, arrived with his team in Sofia on June 2, 2018, at the invitation of Desislava Dimova. He and his colleague, curator Nikola Gutnikov, gave a lecture at the French Institute in Sofia, presenting the methods and principles of work on creating and organizing collections for the museum.

The meeting with Bernard Blisten marked the beginning of a future partnership between Bulgaria and France to create a Collection of avant-garde and contemporary Bulgarian art in one of the most significant museums in the world.

The Georges Pompidou Center in Paris is the most important institution for modern and contemporary art in France and one of the most prestigious in Europe and the world, known for the extremely precise selection of its collection.
